When Is A Whooping Crane Not A Whooping Crane?

After it woke up and stretched a little, the whooper wandered upstream quite a ways. It seemed to be walking completely alone – not following other birds. The sandhill cranes didn’t seem bothered by it, but also didn’t seem to interact with it in any way.
