I haven’t been out with my camera much lately, so when I woke up this morning and saw fog and calm winds outside, I decided I’d better head out. I went across town to Lincoln Creek Prairie and had a nice peaceful sunrise to myself.
I was happy to see a few milkweed seeds still hanging around and glittering in the early light. Despite frosts, I also found a fly and even a still-flowering tall thistle (Cirsium altissimum) plant. Mostly, though, I photographed milkweed seeds – because I’m so short on those in my inventory… What can I say – they’re hard to resist!
I hope you’re all having a great weekend, wherever you are, and finding a little time for your own prairie peace.
