What is this blog all about?

Thank you for visiting The Prairie Ecologist.  This blog is intended to be a forum for prairie management, prairie restoration, prairie natural history, and prairie photography.  I’ll share my photos, experiences and ideas, but I really hope that you will share your thoughts and ideas as well.

Because prairies are much less appreciated by the general public than, say, rainforests, mountains, or waterfalls, those of us who know and love prairies are always excited to meet others who share the same passion.  This blog is designed to give us a chance to interact, share our stories, and have frank discussions about the challenges associated with managing and restoring prairies.  I hope that it also functions as a gateway for others who haven’t yet found their way into the world of prairie.

So whether you’re a registered prairie nut or a passerby – welcome.  And thanks for coming.
